Douglas "Doug" Allen

Douglas “Doug” Dwight Allen, 72, of Benton, Arkansas passed away July 24, 2020.  He was born July 20, 1948 in Philadelphia, Mississippi to the late Roy and Nellie (Holley) Allen.

Doug proudly served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran.  He was raised in the Pentecostal faith.  Doug and his wife, Sunny, met on a blind date and have been together ever since.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting arrowheads, and taking long rides in his truck through the countryside.  He was an amazing cook and everything he made was delicious, including burgers, ribs, and hushpuppies.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory:  His loving wife of thirty years, Sunny Carol Allen of Benton, Arkansas; five children:  Monica Spann of Benton, Douglas Allen, Jr. of Little Rock, Judy Sanford and husband Doug of Traskwood, Arkansas, Wendy Cox and husband Michael of Beebe, Arkansas, and Jimmy “Jay” Singleton and wife Jennifer of Benton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Jerlene Taylor of North Little Rock; special fur babies, Sugar and Cinnamon; and a host of family members and friends who love Doug and will miss him always.
