Doyal Babcock

September 1, 1934 ~ September 3, 2020 (age 86)

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Doyal Adell Babcock, 86, passed peacefully away at his home September 3, 2020, into the loving arms of our Lord with his wife Jean by his side.  Doyal was born September 1, 1934 to Thomas R. Babcock and Littie C. (Barker) Babcock in Hugo, Oklahoma.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War before going to work for Pacific Gas & Electric, in Northern California for 35 years.  Doyal and Jean Ann Arnold were married February 10, 1956 in Paradise, California.  They stayed in California raising two children Vickie and Lawrence until his retirement.  Upon retiring, Doyal and Jean moved to McRae, Arkansas where he fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a farm and raising cattle.

Doyal’s faith in God always lead him with a very strong belief.  He read the Bible often, did a Sunday service at local nursing homes.  He was a very avid reader of Louis L’amour books.  Owning the full set, he read them several times over.  Doyal could always give you the day’s happenings and current politics.  Fox News was a must watch which he made a point of watching daily along with older Western shows.

Doyal was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Littie; brothers Donald and Leonard; and sister Wanda.  Doyal is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean; brother Jerry Babcock of Oregon; and sister Hallie Hopkins of California.  Doyal also leaves behind daughter Vickie and son Lawrence of California; and in loving memory grandchildren Gregory and wife Sharon, Crystal and husband Raphael, Vivian, Braedon, and Trevor; and great grandchildren JoLea, Gabriel, Dominic, Anthony, and John.

Private services will be held.  Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home.
