Dr. Bob Carpenter

December 24, 1945 — November 8, 2020

Dr. Bob Carpenter

Dr. Bob G. Carpenter, of Ward, Arkansas, returned to his ancestors on Sunday, November 8, 2020, after a short, but difficult battle with cancer.

The youngest of five siblings, Dr. Bob was born to Minnie & A.W. Carpenter on December 24, 1945 in Beebe, Arkansas. Dr. Bob often kept his older siblings scrambling to keep him out of trouble – he often hid behind a tree so the school bus couldn’t see him and once put a puppy down the outhouse.

Dr. Bob attended and graduated from Cabot High School, before joining the US Navy on December 27, 1965. He performed his service at the US Naval Hospital in Camp Pendelton, Ca. However, his long, flat feet, which earned him the name “Paddlefoot”, would get him honorably discharged on February 20, 1967, as a Navy Corpsman.

When Dr. Bob turned 30 years old, he had a wife, a new baby girl and had been accepted into Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. He spent the next 3 years perfecting what would be his life long career, and graduated in March of 1979, with his Doctorate of Chiropractic.

Dr. Bob would go on to open five different office locations in Arkansas, during the height of his career, before settling for a home office in his later years.

Dr. Bob Enjoyed being a chiropractor, working on his patients, listening to their stories and being their friend.  In his final year, it would be his patients, family and fat little dog Tootie, that would bring him peace.

We love and miss you. Enjoy being back in the arms of our ancestors and sitting at Grandma’s table eating purple hull peas, fried chicken, peach pie and drinking sweet tea.

Dr. Bob is survived by his daughter Christabelle Carpenter; stepsons Craig and Jerry Dozier & their families; brother Dr. Richard Carpenter; sisters Mary Ellen Screeton, Betty (Willie) Turner, Rachel Carpenter; family friend Fran Garrouette and his fat little dog "Tootie". He is preceded in death by his wife Jeanett Carpenter, parents Minnie and A.W. Carpenter.

Pallbearers: Steve Wrigley, David Carpenter, Willie Turner, Jeff Turner, Glenn Turner and Chris Carpenter
