Effie Schulte

Effie “Jean” Schulte, 96, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, formerly of New Blaine, Arkansas, passed away January 20, 2021.  She was born March 19, 1924 in McCrory, Arkansas to the late Preston and Lucille (Angelo) Roddy.

Jean graduated from St. Vincent Infirmary with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing.  She loved taking care of infants and children as a pediatric nurse.  Jean was a devoted and’ loving wife and mother.  She had the kindest heart filled with gratitude for even the simplest of things.  Jean had a sweet spirit about her which made family and friends adore her.  Riding horses was a favorite activity Jean enjoyed.  She also could be found with her husband on the back porch of their lake home watching children fish and appreciating the beauty of nature.

Preceding Jean in death are her loving husband of seventy-five years, Laurence Paul Schulte; daughter, Paula Schulte-Crawford; parents; and five siblings.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory three children:  Stanley Paul Schulte of Little Rock, Arkansas, Ashley Schulte of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Jane Anne Schulte of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Charlene Schulte of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren:  Seth Schulte and wife Mia of California, Bridget Rogers and husband Marc, and Pascha Tieszen and husband Todd; great-grandchildren:  Strider Schulte, Stella Schulte, Noah Rogers, Lucas Rogers, Angel Tieszen, Amy Tieszen, and Autumn Tieszen; sister-in-law, Marie Roddy of Searcy, Arkansas; and many family members and friends who love Jean and will miss her always.

Special appreciation to the caring staff of Arkansas Hospice for their loving, attentive care and support.
