Ellis Fletcher, Jr.

February 24, 1952 — February 22, 2021

Ellis Fletcher, Jr.

Ellis Elmer Fletcher, Jr., 68, went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2021.  He was born in Benton, Arkansas to the late Ellis Fletcher, Sr. and Georgia Fletcher.   Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.  He is survived by two sisters:  Nadine and husband William Ables, Sr., and Ruth Ann and husband Jimmy Hood; and two brothers:  Morris Fletcher and his wife Carol and Robert Fletcher.   Ellis was a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Ellis was a member of New Life Church of God in Bauxite.  He loved the Lord with all his heart. Ellis worked at Star Industries and at Pathfinders as a grocery stocker.  He never allowed his disability to stop him.  Ellis spent his life loving his family and everyone he met.  He never met a stranger.  Everyone was his buddy.  He looked forward to spending holidays and vacations with his family.  Christmas and his birthday were his favorites.  Ellis was a huge Razorback fan.  He loved camping and fishing with his family.  He participated in many special Olympic events in which he won many gold medals.  He also played in the Conway College Band when he was 16.  Ellis loved the county fair and all the fair foods.  If you ever met him, be assured he loved you and never forgot you.  To know him was to love him.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the 5th Floor nurses and staff of Saline Memorial Hospital that made sure the last few weeks of Ellis’ life were filled with love and joy.  He loved each one of them.
