Gerry Carter age 79, of Hollywood, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on 11-20-2020 while in Hospice Care at the Encore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Malvern, AR. Gerry was born Gerry Collins in Dalark, Arkansas on June 16, 1941. She was a member of the Hollywood Baptist Church, where her late husband, Ed Carter, served as a deacon. She is preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Ed Carter, her parents O.Y. Collins and Lillie Collins, all five of her siblings; Marie Lendermon, Betty Sue Stover, Margaret Hughes, Roy Collins, and Lou Richards. She is survived by four children: Terri Lynn Crawley (Jimmy) of Gurdon, Melinda Long (Donnie) of Athens, Alabama, Michelle Smith (Terry) of Bismarck, and Dr. Michael E. Carter of Shreveport, Louisiana. Six Grandchildren, whom she loved the most: Marc Crawley (Shelby) of Rosboro, April Dickens of Harvest, Alabama, Krista Crawley of Gurdon, Elizabeth Carter of Shreveport, Louisiana, Sarah Kalberer (Arron) of Bryant, Chase Smith of Bismarck. Five Great Grandchildren: Blaise Long-Slydell of Harvest, Alabama, Gracie Long-Slydell of Harvest, Alabama, Annaleigh Carter Crawley of Rosboro, Jackson Collier of Rosboro, and Tatum Collier of Rosboro. one great great Grandchild: Kayne Ryder Slydell of Harvest, Alabama. And many Nieces and Nephews.

Gerry was a devout Southern Baptist and believed in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She lived a full and complete life, enjoying her work in the Restaurant industry and knew almost everyone in the local area. She was a people person and loved to see family and friends.

The family will have a brief visitation at the Hollywood Baptist Church in Hollywood, Arkansas 08:30 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2020 followed by a graveside service at the Hollywood Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Brother Larry Bloomfield will officiate with Marc Crawley assisting. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Hollywood Baptist Church or the Hollywood Cemetery in c/o Southern Bancorp, 2500 West Pine Street, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
