Goldie Reese

It’s been said for many years by man, the idea of living is to die young late in life. That’s exactly what 88-year-old Goldie Reese of Benton, Arkansas has done. Goldie earned her heavenly reward on October 22, 2020. She has always talked about her day of Glory when she would walk the streets of Gold with Jesus. She was a devout wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and most importantly- a servant of God. Our family has known her for many years as MaMaw. This September 10th Mamaw and PaPa celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary together after a lifelong journey serving the Lord. Goldie shared life with a heart of gold serving her church, family, and friends just as her name implies. Although our hearts are saddened with the loss of her presence, she will carry on in our hearts forever and greet us all with that big smile once again at those pearly gates. Goldie was known throughout Saline county for her commitment to her family, church, as well as making quilts and afghans for half the county. She enjoyed serving her community in the walk for redemption to know Jesus Christ.  She was a member of the First Pentecostals of Benton and enjoyed hosting a special group of ladies called The Sisters Circle.

Goldie is proceeded in death by her parents, Robert and Bertha Green; brothers: James, Virgle, Walter, and Charlie Green. Sisters Gladys Farrell, Inez Taylor, and Sylvia Risen.

Goldie is survived by her husband Loy Reese of the home; four daughters: Teresa and husband Dennis Gale of Harrison AR, Lesa and husband Rick Davis of Benton AR, Tammy Reese Schoenster of Houston Texas, and Myrna and husband Lonnie Siler of Springdale AR. As well as her grandchildren whom she cherished: Eric Redding and wife Melody of Benton AR, Tara Pool and husband Chris of North Little Rock, Dustin Hendrix of Springdale AR, Adam Davis of Benton AR, Robbie Gale of Vilonia AR, Rebecca Gale and Brook Griffin of Hot Springs AR, Lily Schoenster of Houston Texas; and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who have cherished their time with her.
