Guadalupe Martinez-Lemus

Guadalupe “Lupita” Martinez-Lemus, 7, of Alexander, Arkansas received her angel wings and arrived in the presence of the Lord May 11, 2021.  She was born August 26, 2013 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Santos Martinez and Osmalda Lemus.

Lupita was such a strong young girl who never complained through her battle with cancer.  She told everyone she knew- both family and caregivers-that her suffering was for Jesus.  Her friend, Father Nelson stated “she was not an angel, but a saint.”  Lupita was dearly loved by the doctors and nurses at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.  She used every opportunity she had to talk to others about God and assured everyone that she was not scared to die because Jesus was with her.  Despite her young age, she had the strength of a lion and leaves messages behind for all those who love her.  Some of her last words were “I love you, You’re special, I’ll love you forever.”   Lupita, we love You, You’re special, and we will love you forever.

Preceding Lupita in death are her grandfathers who are taking care of her in heaven, Jesus Lemus and Jorge Martinez.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory:  parents, Santos Martinez and Osmalda Lemus; brother, Santos G. Martinez-Lemus; sister, Sophia Martinez; grandmothers:  Carmelina Antonia Alarcon and Gregoria Sagastume; many aunts, uncles, family members and friends who love Lupita and will miss her always.
