Gypsy Fogle

On July 11, 2020, Gypsy Gail Fogle departed this life to be with the Lord. Gypsy, who was known to many as Gail, was born on September 17, 1955 to Wilma Fogle and McKinley Thrower in Cullendale, Arkansas. She was raised in Camden, Arkansas and was the youngest of eight children. Once she graduated high school, she moved to Conway and pursued her nursing degree at the University of Central Arkansas and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. While attending UALR, she pledged Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and was a charter member for the still existing Xi Theta Chapter.

On July 30, 1985 she gave birth to her only child, Bianca Rene` Matlock. She poured everything she had into raising her daughter, but she was also a mother figure for many people. She was blessed to know her two grandsons, whom she loved dearly. She was a proud member of Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church and she was a believer of the Lord.

Gail was intelligent, witty, articulate, and compassionate. She had a passion for nursing and providing excellent care to her patients. She was always learning more to pass along to other nurses. She was in the profession for over 39 years and during that time she made sure to make an impact at UAMS. She had a passion for sewing, baking beautiful cakes, and the Blues. She loved her music and always kept up with the latest line dances. She enjoyed going to the casino and had a knack for hitting it big. She had an infectious smile, and a larger than life personality. She had a huge heart and she always stressed the importance of giving to others.

Gail was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma, her father, McKinley, her brother, Robert, and her two infant sons. She is survived by her only daughter, Bianca; her grandsons, Edward and Micah; her sisters, Carolyn of Bronx, NY and Penny of Jacksonville, AR; her brothers, Tim of Gothenburg, Sweden, Carl of Mesa, AZ, Willie (Margaret) of Kansas City, MO, and George of Atlanta, GA. She has several nieces and nephews along with a host of cousins and her loving group of friends and former coworkers.
