Harold Hicks

Harold Hicks, 91, of North Little Rock, AR passed from this life, surrounded with love, to the arms of God on Thursday evening October 14, 2021 in Scarborough, Maine.

Born on April 10, 1930 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Wesley Anderson and Ora Arlene Hicks.  As a young man Harold wed Lucille Linn and they had a son, Harold Eugene Hicks. Harold later moved to Arkansas and worked with his brothers in the construction and paint business.  It was here where he met his wife of 53 years, Amye (Jobe) Hicks.  In addition to his son and her three children, they had one daughter Sharlet Renee Hicks.  Harold held close his Oklahoma roots, loved to tend his garden and care for his horses, he worked hard, never met a stranger and would never turn down a game of dominoes.  Harold spent his last days in mid-coast Maine living with his daughter, a grandson and his family.

He is survived by his son, Harold (Susan) Hicks;  and daughter, Sharlet Hicks; four grand-children (Jeremy, Aaron, Allison and Jonathan); five great-grand-children; and brothers Alton & Leroy (Maria) Hicks.  He is also survived by 3 step-children, their families, and a host of other friends and relatives.

He is preceded in death by wife, Amye Hicks; his parents; sister Lorene Cushman; and brothers Calvin and Robert Hicks.

The family would like to express deep appreciation to caregivers, Maria Hicks, Olive Whitney, Amy Horne, Dina and the team at Beacon Hospice and Gosnell Memorial Hospice of Southern Maine.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
