Irene DeSalvo Dumboski of North Little Rock died February 14, 2021. She was born in Center Ridge, Arkansas, the daughter of Joe Luke and Mary (Rossi) DeSalvo on September 9, 1928.
Irene was a stay at home mom and worked as a seamstress. She was a faithful member of St. Anne Catholic Church for sixty plus years. She was a choir member, a Eucharistic Minister and a Sacristan for a lot of those years. She was involved in Arkansas Kairos Prison Ministry and was on the first team when the ministry came to Arkansas. She visited prisons for “Prayer and Share” for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Jo Dumboski, Janet Beck, Karen Faherty (Greg), Victoria Alger (James), Cynthia Hannah, son, Jeff (Miesha) Dumboski, twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her twin sister, Lorene Dumboski, her sister Tootsie Hoelzeman (Buddy), and brother, Richard DeSalvo.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Felix (Phil) Dumboski, a daughter, Phyllis, and a son Randy, parents, Joe Luke and Mary DeSalvo, sisters Amelia Paladino and Julia Paladino, brothers, Paul, Ed, Vincent, Robert, Eugene and Joseph DeSalvo, son-in-law Bill Beck, and brother-in-law Chester Dumboski.
Pallbearers will be Matt Beck, Randy Beck, Adam Shelton, Luke Shelton, Austin Hannah and Phillip Dumboski.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Anne Catholic Church; Catholic High School; Mt. St. Mary Academy or Arkansas Hospice.
The visitation will begin at 6:00 PM, Thursday, March 4, 2021 followed by the rosary at 7:00 PM at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be March 5, 2021 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father Alejandro Puello as celebrant. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Little Rock.
