James Parker

December 20, 1937 — September 18, 2020

James Parker

James Earl Parker, 82, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away September 18, 2020 surrounded by his family.  He was born December 20, 1937 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late James Doyle and Lillian Ophellia (Johnson) Parker.

James loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately call him “Paw Paw”.  He was known to be stubborn and bull-headed.  James was very competitive, always the winner, and always right!  In his younger years, James enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, racing stock cars, or mudding on the dirt tracks.   Despite James tough exterior, he was a loving man.  Every time his family came to see him, he would tell them “Never forget, I love you”.

Preceding James in death are his parents; three sisters; and two brothers.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory three children:  Laurie Yielding of Perryville, Arkansas, Larry Parker and his wife Yvonne of Little Rock, Arkansas and Lynn “Sam” Burrows and her husband Scott of Mabelvale, Arkansas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Jesse Parker and his wife Margie of Little Rock, Arkansas; and many family members and friends who love James and will miss him always.

Family wishes to thank all the staff at Perry County Nursing and Rehabilitation, “PCNC” in Perryville, Arkansas for their exemplary care and compassion shown to James “Paw Paw” during his time there.
