James "Jim" Green

James Alfred Green (Jim) of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away in the early morning hours of August 30, 2021. He was born on November 5, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Lonzo and Eula Belle.  He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Turner.  He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kay, son, Allen (Tina), and daughter, Angela (Todd), four grandchildren, Luke (Marisa), Lacy (Gerson), Jeffrey (Amanda) and Jennifer. He has three great grandchildren, Samuel, Jacob, and soon to be born Melanie.

Pop, as he was affectionately known, was a family man first and foremost.  He loved hanging out with family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and barbequing. He was a precision machinist and equipment designer for Southern Screw Machine Products in Jacksonville and Remington Arms Company in Lonoke.  He could design, fabricate, build, and fix just about anything mechanical.  He was always in a good mood and made everyone around him happy.  His motto was, “If you’re doing something, you might as well have fun doing it.”  He was very quick-witted, smart, and sharp as a tack.  He had and endless array of jokes and a song for any given situation.  He never met a stranger and would help anyone out in a moments notice.  He was kind, caring and giving.  He loved life and had many friends.  He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Memorial service will be at 3:00PM Friday, September 3, 2021 at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107) with visitation one hour prior to the service.
