James "Jimmie" Ault

Jimmie Bremond Ault was born on August 22, 1931 in Harlingen, Texas and died on September 15, 2021 in Salina, Kansas.

He was the oldest of 6 sons born to Irving Bremond Ault and Mamie Dee (Little) Ault.  He was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he learned to love fishing and flying, passions that persisted with him throughout his life.  Corpus Christi is where Jimmie met and married Margaret Rose Black on June 30, 1950.  The couple had three children:  Patricia Ann, James Allen, and Nanci Kay.  In April of 2016, Jimmie moved to Salina, Kansas to be near family following the death of his wife Margaret in 2015.

Jimmie spent his working life in the wholesale sector of the grocery business.  Following career opportunities, he moved his family from Corpus Christi to San Antonio and then to Little Rock, Arkansas, with a brief period spent in Memphis Tennessee.  He spent many years as a traveling sales representative for a handful of different companies and loved being on the open road and becoming familiar with communities all over South Texas and Arkansas.  Upon retirement, he enjoyed traveling abroad with his wife Margaret a number of times to Europe, the Caribbean, and Alaska.  He especially enjoyed traveling many times to Kansas, Washington, and back to Texas to visit family.

Jimmie had a great gift for conversing with strangers and making new friends in both business and in his personal life.  He had a ready smile and a laugh that often drew people to him.

A lifelong Methodist, Jimmie was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Little Rock at the time of his death.  He was also a longtime member and officer for the Mid-America Radio Control Society and the Academy of Model Aeronautics in Little Rock.

Jimmie is survived by his three children and their spouses :  Pat (Tim), Jim (Marcia) and Nanci.  Five grandchildren along with their spouses also survive:  Parker Ault (Maria), Robin Nunnally (Andrew), Charlie Ault-Duell (Megan), Hunter Ault, and Margi Ault-Duell (Hugo).  There are four great-grandchildren in whom Jimmie took special delight in these last years:  Solomon, Rosalee, Liam, and Anouk.
