Janie Robertson
Janie Dianne Robertson, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. She was born to Jasper McGraw and LaNelle Newcomb McGraw on May 16, 1950.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Janie found love in everything around her. She filled her home with kaleidoscopes and handmade pottery, and she prided herself on giving excellent gifts to her loved ones. She loved to sing, plant flowers and visit Arkansas state parks with her family. She was lively and funny, and she was a wonderful storyteller.
After returning to school and earning a Master's of Social Work in her forties, Janie worked at the Arkansas State Hospital and at Birch Tree Communities, where she eventually retired. She continued to help others through volunteer work for many years.
Her loving and colorful spirit impacted all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
Janie is survived by her son, Jon (Aimee) Robertson, granddaughter, Delaney Robertson, her sisters, Sandy (Bob) Qualls, Becky (Tom) Schulze and Angie (Jim) Dixon, brothers, Terry McGraw and Tim (Juanita) McGraw, and many friends. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 23, in Little Rock.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that anyone who is willing and able make a donation to either the Arkansas Arts Center or your local public library system in Janie's honor.
