Johnny Beard, Sr.

Johnny F. Beard, Sr., 82, of Jacksonville passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019. He was born June 1, 1937 in Jacksonville, Arkansas to Herbert and Bertha Kyzer Beard. He was a member of First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock and a member with Randy Beard of the Coon Hunting Club.

Johnny is survived by his children, Cathy Lynn Dennis (Paul) of California, Johnny Dale “J.D.” Beard (Marilyn) of California, Leeta Sue Ellis, Steven L. Beard (Kerri), and Jo Ann Beard; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, William Floyd Beard (Shelley), Lena Davis of Texas, Inez Quattlebaum, Mary Ann Robinson (Carol), Wanda Sue Yarberry, Linda Joyce Dillon (Larry); other extended family members and friends, including Terry Inscore.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Johnny Franklin Beard, Jr.; an infant grandson; and siblings, Cecil Beard, Tommy Beard, Marie Dodson and Floy Lee Beard.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 10, 2019 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock. Burial will follow in Gravel Ridge Cemetery.
