Johnny McGee

Johnny Dean McGee, age 63, of Benton, Arkansas passed away Friday, June 26, 2020.  He was born on August 15, 1956 in Ebbyw-vale, England.  He worked for Local 53 Heat and Frost Insulators, where he worked as a Union Insulator and Northwest Envirocon, where he was an environmental specialist.  He loved being outdoors including fishing and hunting.  Johnny was a Christian with a sincere belief in Jesus’ sacrifice for the forgiveness of his sins, and ours.  He made an impression on everyone he met.  He had a deep love for his immediate family, children, nieces, nephews including a special bond with niece Brandy Garner (Scott) of Benton, AR whom he loved as a daughter.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nora McGee and one son, Jon McGee.

Survivors include his loving wife of 17 years, Lynn McGee; daughters, Amy McGee Beckwith of Fremont, Ohio and Alison McGee of Portland, Oregon; step-sons, David Etteldorf of Benton, Arkansas and Michael Etteldorf of Madison, Wisconsin; grandsons, Brynn and Alex Beckwith; sisters, Denise Buxton of Monroe, Louisiana, Kim Landry of Morgan City, Louisiana, and Shirley Quintela (Mike) of Spring Branch, Texas; one brother, Robert McGee (Jill) of Rockwall, Texas; his father, Avon McGee of Spring Branch, Texas; other relatives, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 pm Friday, July 10, 2020 in the chapel of Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas officiated by his brother-in-law, Robert Peach with the visitation being held one hour prior to service time beginning.

AR COVID-19 directives:  Face coverings required.  Maintain social distancing.
