Judy Skaggs

In Little Rock, Arkansas on November 18th, 2021, Judy "Big Emme" Skaggs passed through the pearly gates to join all of the loved ones that we have lost before her. After a short struggle with cancer, Judy is now resting in heaven, held in the loving arms of Jesus.

Born on September 25th, 1946 in Nashville Tennessee to Ira J. Heckman and Jeanne Webb Heckman, Judy was the middle child between her big sister Linda H. Serabia and her baby sister Laura H. Penland. Graduating from Hillsboro High School in Nashville and then Mississippi State for her undergraduate degree, she met Edward T. Garrett. The two of them would have two beloved daughters, Kelley and Shelby, and eventually Judy would welcome three precious grandchildren, Preston Scott Webb Carpenter, Baylee M. Sultan, and Bryce P. Sultan, as well as two great-grandchildren, Emeline "Eme" M. Carpenter and Colin S. Carpenter.

Judy "Emme" will miss all of her Palm Coast friends and her neighbor, as well as her American Airlines family who flew with her for so many years. Aunt Judy will miss spending time with all of her nieces and nephews. Her time in the Sunshine State with her daughter Shelby and family was lovingly spent until Kelley brought her to Arkansas for a peaceful week before she passed on to join her late husband, Mark, and her sweet LuLu.

Please pray for peace for all of Judy's family and friends. Her final wishes were for people to forego sending flowers and other gifts of comfort. Instead, please donate to local animal shelters or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, as these were two causes dear to her heart.

I will miss her so much and I hope she rests comfortably now in heaven.

A Celebration of Judy Skaggs’s Life will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., Little Rock, AR 72205.
