Katelyn Moran

Katelyn Marie “Hawkins” Moran, 30, of Beebe, AR went to be with our Lord on September 14, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN after a long battle with COVID. Katie went peacefully surrounded by her husband and family. Katie leaves behind her best friend and husband, Joe Moran and her two lovely children Reid (7 years) and Kinsley Jo (7 weeks).

Katie was born in Steubenville, OH on November 11, 1990. She spent her early years growing up in Bloomingdale, OH.  Katie was a 2009 graduate of Cabot High School where she met the love of her life. Katie loved wearing camouflage and the outdoors, riding 4 wheelers, animals and spending time with family and friends. Katie was a Pittsburgh Steelers Fan but, adored being a baseball mom, spending time at the ball fields watching Reid and The Beebe Badgers with her baseball family. She always had a smile that would light up any room and loved to make others laugh. Her love of helping others lead Katie to attend UACCB to earn her Associates in Nursing in December of 2019 and pursued her career as an RN.  She spent 10 years working at Unity White County Hospital in Searcy where she gained another family of coworkers and frontline heroes.

Katie was the daughter of Kathy Harris (Jerry) of Austin, AR and Jeff Hawkins (Kim) of Wellsburg, WV and granddaughter of Bernadine “Bubbie” Matuska of Wintersville, OH. She is survived by her brother Ben Hawkins (Sherry) and sister Chrissy James (Jonathan) of AR, sisters Clorissa Glenn of WV and Katlyn Chuchiak of OH. Mother-in-law Tanya Moran, Brother-in-law Dustin Thrift, Sisters-in-law Ashley Hensley (Brandon) and Amber Roe of AR. Katie was the proud Aunt to 8 nieces and nephews: Camden, Hannah, Mason, Sam, Zophie, Max, Lydia and Adelynn. She is preceded in death by her Grandparents: Robert Matuska, Maurice Hawkins (Loretta) and JoAnn Harris Hanks (Frank).
