Lloyd Garland

Lloyd William Garland, 66, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020.  That morning, God took Lloyd’s hand and he was ushered into eternal life.  He was the husband of Sue Ellen Garland.  They shared almost 44 years of marriage.

Born in Beebe, Arkansas, he was the son of Sam (Sammy) and Edna Garland.  He attended Beebe schools, and retired from Remington Arms in Lonoke in 2018, where he was a machine operator for 38 years.

Lloyd was a devout Christian for the majority of his life.  He didn’t attend a brick and mortar church but he and Sue were media members of Swaggart Ministries for many years.  He loved his family very much, and enjoyed spending time with them.  He adored his one grandson and six granddaughters and cherished every minute with them.  He enjoyed spending time in his yard landscaping, and working on home improvement projects.  He had a passion for firearms and would visit local shooting ranges often.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen Melton-Garland, son Steven (Cherie) Garland of Beebe, daughter Annie (Justin) Corneilson of Cabot, grandchildren, Amara, Celeste, Lucas, and Ella Garland and Erin, Taylor, and Trinity Corneilson; aunt Verna Mae Galloway-Harvey and niece Teresa Turner both of Beebe; nephews, Bruce McCain of Beebe, and Rodney and David Garland Jr., both of Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Edna Garland, brother David Garland, and sister Mary Elizabeth Garland-McCain.

There will be a graveside service at 10:00 AM Monday June 22, 2020 at Beebe Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to diabetes research.  State of AR COVID-19 directives will be followed; including social distancing.  Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home.   www.smithfamilycares.com
