Lois Boyd

Lois was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and was raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas. She grew up as the only daughter with four brothers: Raymond, Jerry, James, and Eddie. She was somewhat of a tomboy with so many brothers to keep up with. She married young and had 2 daughters, Tami and Tonya. She was a wonderful mother. She took her daughters on many fun adventures including to climb Pinnacle Mountain, tour the Old State House and McArthur Park Museum. Her most favorite adventure was shopping for a bargain. Coupons and sales were her favorite. She was a loving wife to her husband of 42 years, Keith Boyd.

The family went on countless road trips and vacations all over the U.S, Mexico, and the Bahamas. But, by far, her proudest moment was when she became a grandmother to her beautiful granddaughter, Stevie Marie Lazzara. She doted on her and spoiled her rotten. She decided she would be called, “Weird Granny” because Stevie would always say, “Granny you are so weird” when they would play and hangout together. She said nobody else had a weird granny – I’m one of a kind. Their bond was unbreakable. Lois was known to be the queen of an April Fool’s joke, planning and plotting elaborate jokes. Pulling someone’s leg was her favorite thing to do. She had a sarcastic and dry sense of humor. She was also very private and had very few friends because to her, her family was everything. Her mother, Ethel Roberts, was her life-long best friend. She went on all the family vacations. She was Lois’s favorite shopping buddy.

Lois will be missed and remain a special person in the hearts of those who got to know and love her in her 74 years here on Earth. She is gone to be with her beloved husband, mother, and her dog Casey. Lois, we will see you again and your family loves you so much!

The family would like to thank all the heroes who work at St. Vincent’s hospital and St. Vincent’s rehab who took such wonderful care of our mother for 7 months. A very special thank you to her private nurse, Britney Hollins, who was very patient and compassionate with Lois. And finally, we would like to thank Shannon and Jerry Covan for their endless love and support during this difficult time.
