Louise Cearley

Louise Burns Cearley, "Mutt" as she was affectionately nicknamed by her brothers, was born September 22, 1919 to the late Floyd and Etta Cummings Burns of El Paso, Arkansas.  She was one of ten brothers and sisters.  Louise passed from this life June 16, 2020.

The Burns family, all members of the Greatest Generation, was always close surviving the Spanish Influenza pandemic,  the Great Depression, and World Wars I and II to name only a few struggles they endured together.

While the Burns brothers were serving overseas in World War II, Louise and her sisters worked at the Arkansas Ordinance plant in Jacksonville.  Louise was promoted up to Quality Control Inspector overseeing the construction of fuses, detonators, and primers made there for the War effort.  One area of the Jacksonville Museum of Military History is dedicated to the Arkansas Ordinance Plants and the women who worked there while the men were serving overseas in the War.

After the war, Louise relocated to Little Rock where she settled with her family.  Her experience at the Munitions plant secured her a position of supervisor at Westinghouse where she remained for 14 years.

Following the death of her husband and one true love, JR Cearley in 1975 she went to work as a Nanny for Mel and Bren Simon her loving niece, watching over their son Max.  Louise spent 20 years traveling the world with the Simon family and loved them all like they were her own.

She is survived by her only child Betty Jo Campbell of Little Rock, her granddaughter's Chea Redditt (Roy Hancock) of Claremore, Oklahoma and Tish Tucker (Dennis Tucker) and three great grandchildren Hannah, Sarah, and Hope of Waco, Texas.

Louise touched the lives of all who knew her with wise words, a quick wit, and unconditional love beyond measure.

Interment will be at Roselawn cemetery in Little Rock.
