Mardgie Kathleen “Kathy” Benton Ball, 73 years of age passed away on September 7, 2020. Kathy was born July 13, 1947 in Searcy, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Fred C. and Ella Gail Benton of Floyd, AR. She was a graduate of Beebe High School, attended Floyd schools at a young age and received her Associate degree from ASU-Beebe in 1997.
Kathy married the late William F. Ball in 1968 and three children were born of this union; Emily Ann, Andrea and Andrew. They owned Designs and Signs in Little Rock, Arkansas for many years, later moving home to Floyd. Kathy devoted her life to Christ at a very young age and has attended Harmony Methodist Church where she loved serving the Lord through playing the piano and singing.
Kathy was passionate about her community and was involved in Floyd EH and the preservation of the Floyd Community Center. She loved spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, community volunteer and friend to anyone she crossed paths with. Always thinking of others first, “To know her was to love her”.
Preceded in death by her parents, Fred C. and Ella Gail Benton; husband, William F. Ball; daughter, Emily Ann Ball; and son Andrew F. Ball. She is survived by her daughter Andrea Cole and husband Joseph, their three children Heather Rosales and husband Matthew, Parker Cole, Logan Ball and granddaughter Emily Ball; her two sisters, Patsy Bryant and husband Robert; Virginia Sherrill Shultz husband Dale and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 19 for family at 10:30 a.m. at the New Floyd Cemetery. The family will receive friends on the same day to celebrate her life at the Floyd Community Center, 1255 Hwy 31 N, Searcy, AR from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
