Martha Craig

Martha Woodson Craig was born May 11, 1930, the middle of 3 daughters, to Dorris and Elmer Woodson in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.  She went home to be with Jesus on October 23, 2020.

Martha attended Little Rock High School and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.  She married William E. “Buddy” Craig in 1952 and they had four children.  She reared her children in Scott and North Little Rock, Arkansas and after they were grown, Martha had a successful career in real estate.

Martha was a long time member of Lakewood Methodist Church where she was the member of the George Martin class and she was a Stephen Minister.  She was a person of strong faith who studied her Bible and prayed for her family daily.

As an avid cook and hostess, she and some dear friends formed the Flaming Spoons Supper Club and they published their own cookbook in 2003. She enjoyed tennis and played in many leagues. Martha loved nothing more than spending time with her family at her lake house on Old River Lake in Scott.

She was preceded in death by her son, William Edward Craig, Jr., her parents and sisters, Dorris Bates and Francis Sterling.  She is survived by her children Susan Redden (Mark), Steve Craig (Gayelynne) and Janie Padgitt (Jay), eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church of NLR or Family Life Ministries of Orlando, FL.
