Martin "Ray" Harrell

Martin “Ray” Rayburn Harrell, 85, of Little Rock, passed away January 7, 2021. He was born in Armorel, Arkansas to William and Ethel Pankey Harrell. He was a Deacon at Markham Street Baptist Church. He served in the Army National Guard, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, and retired from Entergy Corporation after 38 years of service.  He was a member of the Forrest City Jaycees, and an avid golfer, sharing his golfing skills at War Memorial Golf Course and First Tee of Central Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 58 years, Joan Marie Harrell, and sister, Judy Harrell Rice.  He is survived by his children, Christy Harrell Allen (Wayne), Martin Samuel Harrell and Scott Rayburn Harrell (Lindy); sister, Bonita Poe; grandchildren, Joshua and Sarah Allen, Sam and Lilly Harrell, Abby Powell (Tim), Alex Harrell (Kelsey), Mary Elise Harrell and Molly Grace Harrell; great-grandchildren, Emersyn Grace Powell, Waylen and Reyna Jean Harrell; and other family and friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of ICU South at Baptist Medical Center for their loving care.

Private services will be held at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Memorials may be made to Markham Street Baptist Church or to First Tee of Central Arkansas.
