Nelda Moore

Nelda Sharon Moore of Cabot passed peacefully from this life on January 4, 2022, at the age of 79. Sharon was born October 5, 1942, in Memphis, Texas to the late E.H. and Irene Moore. She enjoyed traveling, a hobby that took her to many interesting destinations. She lived all over the country, from Texas where she was born, to Seattle, Washington where she worked at and retired from the Seattle Times to Arkansas where she settled in her later years. Sharon had a deep love and faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She was a member of the Amarillo Cowboy church for many years and had an extensive collection of Bibles that she loved to display and share with those around her. In addition to her parents Ms. Moore was preceded in death by siblings, JoAnn Martin, Wilma Magnum, Pete Moore, Herman Moore and David Moore.

Left to cherish her memory are her best friend and caregiver, Catherine Holzwarth of Cabot, niece, Renetta Henley and husband Mike of Lonoke, nephews, Lee Gardner of New Mexico, Daniel Moore of Oklahoma, Tom Martin, and wife Mandy of Oklahoma. Other survivors include her beloved cat, Jasper, special friends Patricia Newsom and Rebecca Jacobson along with a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

At Sharon’s request she will be cremated. She will be laid to rest in a private family service at a later date in her home state of Texas. In lieu of flowers memorials in Sharon’s memory can be made to the Shriners Hospital’s for Children at 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607 or the Wounded Warrior Project at P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675.

A special thank you to Pastor Ted Grove, Krysta Bailey, R.N., and Sherry Jackson, C.N.A., along with the other staff members of Kindred Hospice who cared for Sharon, providing love and compassion in her last days.
