Neva Lyp

Neva Lyp, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020. Born September 5, 1946, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, she is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Hall; her son, Sean Cheney; and two grandchildren, Rebekah Hillmer (and her husband, Hein Hillmer) and Nathan Hall (and his wife, Alli Hall).

This cruising, green thumbed, dancing queen was one of the most unique characters any of us have been privileged to know. The woman never aged, she frequently laughed, and always danced. Neva enjoyed being outside in her dream-like quality backyard and garden; she truly had flower powers as her backyards were always spectacular. Her garden harvests were always prize winning quality, and she knew exactly how to cook every bit of it.

Neva brought true meaning to the term “joie de vivre.” She had spirit, a good dash of sass, but mostly, she had an enjoyment of life that we could all learn from.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the UofA Master Gardeners programs at https://uaex.formstack.com/forms/donations
