Donia Pauline Harbour Hammons, 88, of Cabot went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 26, 2021.

She was born March 8, 1933 in the Zion Hill community of North Pulaski County, to the late Johnnie Coke and Donia Webb Harbour.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Michael Hammons; grandson, Martin Robert Hammons; and a brother, Johnnie Wade Harbour.

Pauline enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking and writing about her daily life. She worked as a medication nurse at Rebsamen Hospital in Jacksonville for ten years. Pauline loved serving in her local church and currently as a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, James L. Hammons; children, James (Priscilla) Hammons of Champaign, IL, Mark (Sandy) Hammons of Cabot and Miriam Hammons of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Simon (Ashley) Hammons, Jackie (David) Shewmaker, Jennifer (Andy) Bates, Abbie (David) Ritchie and Ashlyn Hammons; ten great grandchildren; siblings, Lanell Jones, Steve (Martha) Harbour, Charlie (Bill) Dillree and Karen (James) White.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude for a very special friend and caregiver, Dean Williamson, who made it possible for Pauline to remain in her home for the duration of her illness with Alzheimer’s disease. Special recognition to Peter McIndoe with Home Helpers and Hospice Home Care.

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home or The Alzheimer Association .

Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 30, 2021 at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Cabot, funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery.
