Phillips Craig

Phillips Ralph Craig, 85, of Little Rock, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2021 after his battle with dementia.  He was born August 23rd, 1935 in Batesville, AR. Phillip was the oldest of six children of Ralph and Florence Craig.

Phillip joined the Navy, serving in Korea on the USS Boyd, after graduating from Bauxite High School in 1956. He married Annette Wright of Benton in 1958. They had five children during their 52 year marriage.  Phillip owned and operated a Mobil gas station until recruited to work at American Airlines in 1968.  He retired in 1995. Retirement gave him time to see his 7 grandchildren, travel with his wife, attend men’s bible studies at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ and at the Bug Man with many dear friends, volunteer at numerous local agencies, attend Bauxite reunion events and work in his garden. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.

Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lytle, sisters, Barbara Jo James and Judy McClendon, and his wife, Annette. He is survived by his brother, Scotty Craig, of Benton, sister, Beth (Roy) Hollowoa, of Benton, his sons Jeffrey, David (Beth), Jay, all of Little Rock, and daughters Susan Knight, (George), of San Antonio, TX and Kim Simpson (Shannon), of Paragould, and grandchildren Kirsten, Jordan, Chase and his wife Katherine, Cameron, Lauren, Ashley and Grant, and many loved nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be private. Phillip will be laid to rest beside his wife, Annette, at Rosemont Cemetery in Benton.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made to the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ Food Bank or the Bauxite Historical Association Museum in his honor. Special appreciation to the great care from Hospice HomeCare of Little Rock.
