Reva Hughes

Reva Nell Hughes, 77, of Austin, Arkansas passed away October 20, 2021 in North Little Rock.  She was born October 24, 1943 to Raymond and Marvell Smith.  She graduated from Ouachita, and was retired from Maybelline-Loreal.

Mom dedicated her whole life to taking care of her family.  She took care of four of our family members that were senior citizens until they passed away.  She loved working in the yard, her dog and her many friends, too many to name.  She was always on the phone with many of them but her best friend I am most familiar with is Gayla Rezai.  Mom loved her sister Glenda Sanders very much but they couldn’t spend as much time together as she would have liked because they lived a ways apart and everyone is just so busy with their own lives; that’s just one of many regrets. Mom was a member of Smyrna Full Gospel Church. She loved her many church friends.  She was a Christian and she loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She loved people and made a friend everywhere she went in her everyday life.  She enjoyed talking and visiting.

Reva was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Terri Chism.  She is survived by her son, Phillip D. Hughes (Theresa Linn), sister Glenda Sanders, grandson Kyle Hughes, great grandson Lyam Hughes, niece Melissa (Mike) Konkel, great niece Kristyn Hill, great nephews Bryce Wilson and Myles Cox, all of Conway; niece Judy (Bobby) Justice, great niece, Charity (Taylor) Pratt, great-great nephew, Case Pratt, all of Vilonia; her double first cousin Janice Burgess, nephews Jerry Burgess and Gene Burgess, nieces Stephanie Reynolds and Samantha Grissom, and her special friends, Gayla Rezai and Oliver and Sandra Brown.

Family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.  Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2021 at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
