Robert Charles Wooten, known to friends and family as R.C., Robbie, or Paa, 75, of Benton, passed away on February 19, 2021.

R.C. was born in Little Rock on December 21, 1945.  He graduated from Catholic High in Little Rock.  He married Barbara Jean Ward on January 28, 1967 in Little Rock. He was a member of Congo Road Baptist Church, and worked as a route salesman for Canteen Corporation for 26 years.  He also owned Finders Keepers Flea Market in Bryant, with his wife Barbara.  He was a Vietnam combat veteran and proudly served for the United States Marine Corp. for four years, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant.  His passion was portraying Santa Claus for the kids at Children’s Hospital for ten years on Christmas Day, as well as other charitable organizations.

R.C. is preceded in death by his father, Carl Preston Wooten (Alifoy). His mother Bobbie Skaggs Moats (Johnnie). Brothers: Carl Wooten, Jimmy Johnson, Dale Johnson; and sister Bobbie Jones.  The “Old Lady” (Hazel Anderson), Nonny (Janet Miller), and Buster- his faithful service dog.

R.C. is survived by his spouse of 54 years, Barbara.  Two daughters: Carla Wooten of Searcy (fiancé W. Bryan Barnett), Tara Wooten (Brian Burnett) of Benton.  Grandson Conner Wooten (fiancé Tristann Johnson) of Benton.  Bonus Granddaughter Anna Katherine Featherston of Searcy.  Sister Freda Welch (Delbert).  And a host of nieces, nephews, and friends that he loved dearly.

Memorial service, officiated by Bro. Jeff Langley and Bro. Joe Leslie, will be held at 10:00 AM, March 3, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas.  Burial with military honors will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Conner Wooten, Gary Baxley, Phil Baxley, David Baxley, Tommy Scribner, Jamie Miller, Jeff Miller, and Chris Wooten.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Erman, Joe Erman, and Jack Morrison.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Arkansas Children’s Hospital, The Sunshine School (P.O. Box 831, Searcy, AR 72145), or garysinisefoundation.org.
