Robert “Bob” Wayne Neal age 90, of Arkadelphia, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020 at his home. He was born August 11, 1930 in Rison, Arkansas to the late Archibald and Alice Martin Neal.

Bob served in the United States Army for over twenty-six years retiring as a Colonel in 1978. He was involved in three tours during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After his military career, he was Dean of Student Affairs at Henderson State University from 1978 until 1992. Bob was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church and currently a member of Third Street Baptist Church in Arkadelphia.

Bob enjoyed bird hunting, gardening, and raising timber. He attended gun shows and was a gun and stamp collector.

He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-three years, Nancy Joan Butler Neal; one sister, Alice John Neal and one brother, Jimmy Neal.

Survivors are three daughters, Teresa Lynn Neal of Lincoln, Nebraska, Rhea Ann Neal Ruggles and husband, Murry of Arkadelphia, Tawnya Lee Skokos and husband, Kemp of Little Rock; one son, Britt Paxton Neal of Clarksville; nine grandchildren, Sean Ruggles and wife, Zabrina, Jeannie Hartsell, Megan Longing and husband, Monty, Jarrod Ruggles, Jordan Ruggles, Kate Lagerstrom,  Ian Lagerstrom, Greyson Skokos and Campbell Skokos; three great-grandchildren, Kenlee, Kruze and Aspen; one brother, Charles Neal and wife, Lucy of Ward, Arkansas.

Visitation will be 6:00 until 7:00 pm Thursday, November 5th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Friday, November 6th at Greenwood Cemetery in Rison.

Memorials may be made to the GHS Scholarship Fund c/o First State Bank P. O. Box 446 Gurdon, AR. 71743.
