Roger Turner

Roger Lee Turner, age 78, of Beebe went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2021.  He was born on May 20, 1943 in Salem, Illinois, to Clifford and Velma Turner.

Roger took great pride in every aspect of his life. From his work as Chief Building Inspector for Kane County, Illinois for twenty-seven years, to his many woodworking projects.  He truly enjoyed working with his hands, from landscaping and gardening to carving and painting.  Roger possessed a childlike curiosity and passion for knowledge which led to his many accomplishments.  Everything was a mystery to be unlocked and one of his most gratifying achievements was learning to play the bagpipes.

The only thing that surpassed Roger’s love for his family was his endless devotion to his Lord and Savior. Always an active member, he worshiped at Butterfield Baptist Church in Illinois and Charity Baptist Church in Ward.  Roger cherished reading and studying his Bible, supporting and encouraging his church family and sharing the love of the Lord with everyone he met.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Shirley Turner; three sons, Roger Mark (Ruth) Turner of Beebe, Randy (Jerry Porter) Turner of Chicago, Illinois, Ronald (Sarah) Turner of Plainfield, Illinois; two daughters, Kelly (David) Riley of Beebe and Kerry Daniels of Katy, Texas; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
