Our Daddy, Roland Lynn Commins Sr., entered into eternity December 16, 2021, healed and rejoicing.

Lynn was born in Kilgore, Texas on January 1, 1935 to Ernest and Frances Kennedy Commins as the 5th of twelve children. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1954 and married Delores Hickman in 1956. Together they had 4 children. While living in Marshall, he worked for several years at Panola Harrison Electric Cooperative before going to work as a Blacksmith for T&P Railroad which eventually became MOPAC. He retired after 30 plus years from MOPAC Arkansas as the last remaining Blacksmith west of the Mississippi River. He was a member of the Texas Army National Guard 49th Armored Division in Marshall and Palestine. He retired from the Arkansas National Guard after nearly 40 years service to his country.

While living in the small town of Scottsville, Texas he served on the City Council. He was Deacon of Sunday Schools of the Marshall First Church of the Nazarene. After  moving to Palestine, Texas, he served on the Westwood ISD School Board in several capacities.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Roland Lynn Commins Jr., and siblings, David, Earl, James, Margaret Pearl, Dorothy and Cricket.

He is survived by his three daughters, Donna and Clyde Armstrong, Terry and Dave Raybin, and Paula Commins Moore. Four grandchildren, Jason and Allison Armstrong, Amber and David Davis, Jonathan and Rachael Armstrong and Bo Tillman, and 8 great grandchildren. Brothers, Paul Commins, Darrell Commins and Sisters,  Janet Barnes, Amanda Haynes and Becky Ross. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends in Texas and Arkansas.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, January 8th, 2:00 PM at Palestine Church of the Nazarene, Palestine, Texas. Burial will be private.
