Ruby Melugin

Ruby Nell Burris Melugin 76 Gurdon AR passed away October 6, 2019 with family by her side. Ruby was born in St. Joe Louisiana on April 21, 1943 to James Clarence and Dorothy Mae (Bearden) Burris.

Ruby married the love of her life Winburn Earl Melugin October 14, 1960 and graduated from Arkadelphia High School in May 1961. Through the years she worked as a waitress, Limo driver for the Union Pacific Railroad and a lumber stacker for International Paper. Ruby had a love of the outdoors; fishing, deer hunting, camping but nothing compared to spending time with her family.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, her infant children; Mary Evelyn Melugin, John Alfred Melugin and infant grandson Brandon Lee Melugin, two brothers; James C. Burris Jr, and William Otis (Billy) Burris.  Left to share her memories will be her husband Earl Melugin Sr; four children; Laura Elaine (Sam) Westmoreland, Winburn Earl (Crystal) Melugin Jr, Emily Amelia (Tracy) Moore and Roger Eugene (Mandy) Melugin, five sisters; Bobbi Johnson of Minnesota, Jewel Ghrigsby, Lorene Mathews, Wanda Whitley all of Tallulah, LA and Rose Williams of San Diego CA, fifteen grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home; Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2019  at the funeral home with Bro. Charlie Williams and Jerry Don Burris officiating.  Grandsons; J.J. Plyler, Steven Plyler, Robert Plyler, River Melugin, Jeff Dodwell, Justin Dodwell, and Easton Melugin will carry their grandmother to her resting home in Richland Cemetery.  Honorary Pallbearers will be; Jay Smithpeters and Danny Joe Summerhill.
