Ruthie Smith Wyatt, age 71, of Arkadelphia, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020.  She was born November 12, 1948 to the late James Thurston Smith and Leonia Smith in Phillips County Arkansas.  Ruthie is also preceded in death by her husband, Hertis Wyatt; two sons, Patrick Wayne Smith, and James Lawrence “J.L.” Wyatt; one daughter, Kimberely Ruth Wyatt; and siblings, O.C. Smith, Joseph Smith, and Annie Mary Smith.


Ruthie was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and enjoyed teaching others about the Bible. She taught at Arkadelphia High School and Hot Springs Middle School.  Ruthie was affectionately known as Mama Ruthie.


Mama Ruthie is survived by two daughters, Annette Kraft (Dennis) of Seattle, WA, Debra Wyatt of Dallas, TX; grandson, Kery Smith of Little Rock; five brothers: Thomas Smith of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Jeff Smith of Chicago, IL, Leotriest Smith of Little Rock, Eslie Smith of East St. Louis, MO, Leslie Smith of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Beatrice Davis of Chicago, IL, Ruby Herring of Pine Bluff; and a host of nieces, nephews, spiritual children and grandchildren.

Memorial Video Presentation via Zoom will be 2:30 PM (CST) Saturday, August 15, 2020, with a Memorial discourse starting at 3:00 PM (CST).  Zoom Meeting ID# 812 5286 7029, no password needed.
