Scott was born on September 13, 1945, to Cedric and Madelyn Curtis in Knobel, Arkansas. He was a long-time resident of Bryant, Arkansas, where he raised his family and sold real estate for over 40 years.

Howard Fikes (fellow prison soul winner) will officiate a private family graveside celebration.
