Vernie Langley, Jr.

Vernie Dale Langley Jr., 92, of Dalark, Arkansas, passed away in his home January 15, 2020. Born in his parents’ home in Dalark on October 18, 1927, he was a lifelong farmer, cattleman, and Methodist. He was a member of Dalark United Methodist Church and served on the Delamar Cemetery Association board for more than 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernie Dale Langley Sr. and Lou Ethel Hunter Langley; and his brothers, Morris Langley and Rev. Robert “Bob” Langley.

Survivors include his wife Katherine “Kathy” Terrell Langley and their blended family: children, Rev. Travis Langley (Lynda), Patricia Langley, Dakota Langley, Ricky Hilton (Jill), Renee Hilton Langley; grandchildren, Travis Langley Jr. (Rebecca), Melissa Langley Biegert (Larry), Michael Denton (Dawn), Jennifer Denton Daniell (Jamey), Emily Hilton, Kenny Langley Jr., Katherine Langley, Kory Langley (Amanda), Keyauna Scott, Niesy Scott; great-grandchildren Alex Langley (Katrina), Nicholas Langley, Austin Biegert, Hunter Biegert, Samantha Denton, Maci McCollett, Kailynn Langley, Gabriel Langley, Christian Langley, Keynai Langley, Matthew Langley, William Langley, and Tobias Langley; and great-great-grandson, Spencer Langley. He was also loved by nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

Visitation will be held at Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia, Friday, January 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at Dalark United Methodist Church Saturday, January 18, 10 a.m., with Peggy Abbott and Rev. Travis Langley officiating. Burial will follow at Delamar Cemetery between Dalark and Manning. Pallbearers will be Ricky Hilton, Howard Langley, Kenny Langley, Kenny Langley Jr, Travis Langley Jr, and Michael Denton.
