Virginia Lackey Bain

Virginia Lee Lackey Bain, 91, of Little Rock, passed away February 15, 2021.  She retired as a registered nurse from V.A. Medical Center.  She proudly said she worked there 24 years, 6 months, and 3 days.

Virginia was raised a Lutheran and was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Sunday School and Keenager class.  Before her health declined, she was an active member of NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees).

Ms. Bain loved her family.  She enjoyed spending time playing the game Skip-Bo.  Her family is declaring her #1 Champ forever.  She always had a smile and positive outlook.  She loved laughing.  In nursing school, she was voted “Most Friendly” and she kept that quality through her life.  Virginia was loved by everyone.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Amelia Smith Lackey Davis and David Allen Lackey.

She is survived by her four children:  David Bain (Debbie) of Nashville, AR, Allen Bain (Ruthie) of Alexander, AR, Ann Zoellick (Mike) of Leesburg, GA, and Sarah Barton (Ken) of Bryant, AR; five grandchildren:  Vanessa Jameson of Mountain View, AR, David Zoellick (Briana) of Macon, GA, Eric Bain (Amanda) of Little Rock, Chris Bain (Kirsten) of alexander, AR, and Hannah Purtle of Centerton, AR; five great-grandchildren:  Caspian and Thorin Zoellick of Macon, GA, Jack and Ethan Bain of Little Rock, Ranglin Bain of Alexander, AR.

Her family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Chu (and family) of Bryant Family Clinic.

Private burial held at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
