Virginia Shirley

Virginia Mae Shirley (Stone) went to her Heavenly home peacefully at her daughter’s home in Vilonia, AR on January 21, 2021. She was 82.

Mrs. Shirley was born on November 29, 1938 in Mt. Vernon, AR to her parents Noel and Roxie Stone. She married Thomas Shirley on February 14, 1955. Mrs. Shirley was a wife, mother of four, and a homemaker. She attended Scotland Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and served as secretary in the Women’s Ministry Department.

Mrs. Shirley was very talented and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, and quilting. She loved working in her vegetable garden and canning the vegetables from it. She also enjoyed working in her flower beds and feeding the hummingbirds. She loved her Lord and Savior and enjoyed her daily time with Him.

Mrs. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Roxie Stone; her sister, Luanita Stone; her brothers, Jimmy and Danny Stone; and her granddaughter, Rhonda Teas. She is survived by her husband of over 65 years, Thomas Shirley; her daughters, Diana Teas (Lee), Karen Foster (Mike), and Linda Gibson (Ronny); her son, Thomas “Tom” Shirley (Brenda); 7 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

A memorial for Mrs. Shirley will be held at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home in North Little Rock, AR on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Graveside and burial will be at Sumner Cemetery in Cabot, AR.
