Wilton A. Treadway was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 8, 1923. He passed away peacefully, at home, on August 24, 2019. Wilton graduated from Little Rock High School and then enlisted in the Army. He was a prominent businessman in Little Rock from the late 1940s through 1978, owning Treadway Flooring. After retiring from his business, he worked for Pulaski County as Director of General Services.
In July, 1943, Wilton enlisted in the United States Army, was stationed in England and served honorably for our nation in World War II. In July, 1944, he married Sarabelle "Sara" Clarke. They had two children and were married for 61 years. Sara predeceased Wilton in 2005. He was also predeceased by his parents, O.W. and Irene Henry Treadway and by his younger brother, Cecil Treadway.
Wilton loved to duck hunt and enjoyed his time hunting and spending time with his friends at the Coon Supper, Catfish, and Oyster Dinners and others he would host.
He is survived by his son, Alford, of Little Rock, daughter, Julie (Nelke) of Round Rock, Texas, grandchildren, Wilton A. Treadway III of Malvern, Sam Treadway of Little Rock and Abby Treadway of Little Rock, and seven great-grandchildren.
A private Military graveside service was held August 27, 2019 at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
