Charlie A. Keener of Sherwood passed away April, 22, 2020. Born in Red Bay, Alabama on April 29, 1928 to the late Dallas W. Keener and Elizabeth Kobeck Keener, he was the oldest son of 11 children. Charlie was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Frances Ella Keener, and all of his siblings. He is survived by his son, Charles W. (Marilyn) Keener of Little Rock, his daughter, Petra "Petey" (Rusty) Choate of Southaven MS; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
After misrepresenting his age, Charlie joined the Army-Air Force. A veteran of WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, he retired after 30 years of active service as Chief Master Sergeant. Charlie then worked at Southern Paper Box Company for 18 years. He was a member and longtime usher at Immaculate Conception in NLR. With a genuine, outgoing and friendly personality, Charlie was loved by many and will be missed by all.
A private graveside service will be held at Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
