James Mayhue

James W. Mayhue age 72, of Arkadelphia, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 in Hot Springs. He was born September 21, 1948 to the late Billy James and Lorene Wilkerson Mayhue.  James was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

James was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War serving on the USS Ticonderoga. He was a longtime Sergeant with the Clark County Sheriff’s Department serving in many different capacities. James never met a stranger; he enjoyed and loved his kids and grandkids.

Survivors are his wife of fifty-one years, Azelia Mayhue; two sons, Brad Mayhue (Sunny) and Jeremy Mayhue (Nechia) both of Arkadelphia; four grandsons, Hunter Mayhue, Cameron Mayhue, Fischer Smith and Patrick Efird; three granddaughters, Taylor Whisenhunt, Perri Cate Efird and Morgan McCoy; two sisters, Marilyn Duncan (Randy) and Gail Hancock (Del) both of Arkadelphia; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday, April 29 th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.

Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 30 th at Third Street Baptist Church in Arkadelphia. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jason Watson, Raymond Funderburk, Jason Jackson, Kenny Taylor, Chance Leamons, Justin Kirksey, Blake Forga, Chris Sparks and Brent Whitworth.

Memorials may be made to Clark County Youth Sheriff’s Ranch.

Arrangements are by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
