James Wood

James “Woody” Wood, of Alexander, Arkansas, passed away on May 23, 2020. He was born to James Thomas Wood, Sr. and Ola Mae Tillery Wood on October 31, 1940 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Patricia Roper Wood; two sons, James T. Wood, III (Dena), and Donald R. Wood (Trish), of Alexander, Arkansas; daughter, Sherrie A. Wood, of Alexander, Arkansas; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a host of family, friends, and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by one infant son, Sean Lee Wood; and two sisters.

Woody retired from the Weyerhaeuser Company (formerly Hankins Container) after twenty-nine years.

Woody loved fishing, hunting and coaching his sons baseball team in the early years. He was a good father and he worked hard for his family.

Memorials may be made to the Saline County Animal Shelter.

Graveside service will be 12:00 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

State of AR COVID-19 directives: Face coverings required at all times.  Fifty attendees or less.  Maintain social distancing. No hugs or handshakes please.
