Joseph Cantatore

Joseph Cantatore, age 100, of Caddo Valley, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in Arkadelphia. He was born December 4, 1920 to Paola and Rosa Cantatore.

Joe served in World War II with Army Air Corp (USAF) working on and maintaining B29 bombers. In his civilian life he worked as a facilities and maintenance manager for the Village of Scarsdale in New York. He eventually returned to his passion of aviation in Show Low, Arizona as the airport manager.

Joe was a licensed pilot and loved to fly. As a gifted artist, Joe created beautiful paintings of the things he loved. His treasured piece of art, Jesus on the cross was prominently displayed in his sight across from his bed as to see when he woke up every morning.

Joe had many treasures and family was so important to him. He had a deep and unconditional love for his wife Sherry.  Joe spoke highly of his daughter Lynda and often traveled many miles to spend time with her.  His grandchildren brought him so much joy and he was elated and over the moon on the upcoming arrival of his first great-grandson, Kelley Brian.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Daniel Pugh; and several brothers and sisters.  He is survived by his wife, Sherry Cantatore; daughter, Lynda Coulter (Joseph) of Tucson, AZ; stepdaughter, Kari Ledford (Harold) of Arkadelphia; grandsons, Justin Ledford of Indianapolis, IN, Jason Ledford of Arkadelphia; granddaughter, Madison Ledford of Arkadelphia; and other extended family and friends.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Arkadelphia.

Arrangements by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home, 517 Clay St, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
