Kenneth Yielding

Kenneth Ray “Buddy” Yielding, 83, of North Little Rock passed from this life on October 15, 2021. He was born August 29, 1938, in Faulkner County, Arkansas to the late Gerald Thomas and Hazel Cleo (Ruple) Yielding. Buddy graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1956, where he was also a member of the basketball team. Mr. Yielding was of the Baptist Faith. Buddy was a lifelong member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1004, where he served as Exalted Ruler for the years of 1985-1986 and again from 1988-1989. He was the owner of Stag Beer Distributing. Mr. Yielding’s hobbies included horses, deer hunting, going on cruises and in his younger years, drag racing. He will always be remembered as a hard working and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his daughter, Kendall Kaye Yielding, and brother, Travis Yielding.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of sixty-one years, Phyllis Ann (James) Yielding; children, Gregory (Caroline) Yielding of Colorado, Gary (Cheley) Yielding of Maumelle, Geff (Shawn) Yielding of Mayflower, Scott (Suzie) Yielding of Marche; and sister, Peggy Bevans of North Little Rock. Other survivors include grandchildren, Ashley, Alex Anne, Lauren, Lindsey, Zac, Taylor Anne, Gunnar, Kenny, Elisha, Bailey, Olivia, Mike, Cara; great grandchildren, Danny, Luke, Easton, Mason, Naomi, Reese, Olive and Cristian; along with many extended family and dearly loved friends.

Funeral services will be 1:30pm, Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas, 72114, (501) 758-1170. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 19, 2021, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
