Farina Alli Clough

Farina Alli Clough passed away 10 April 2025. Heaven gained an angel that day, but left the world a sadder place. She is no longer in pain, and at peace.

Where do you begin to tell the life story of such an amazing person? Shall we begin at the beginning?

Farina was born in Guyana, 1 September 1973. She was the third child of four to her parents Saliman and Inshan Alli. The family moved to Suriname and were struck by tragedy. Her father Inshan died of Pancreatic cancer when Farina was only 10. Her mother did her best with 4 young children. Fareeza (Ann) moved to Canada when she was just 17, so that left Farina (Jenny) and Yasmin (Carol) and Imran (Barns) living with their mom and their stepdad Deodat in Suriname. Farina, Yasmin, her mom and stepdad eventually moved to Aruba where she attended the Colegio Arubano School. From there, at the urging of her mom, she went on to become a Registered Nurse. Soon after getting her RN degree, she went to the Netherlands to study at St. Radbaud University Medical Center, one of the best hospitals in Europe, to specialize as a dialysis nurse. She returned to Aruba and was the best Dialysis Nurse at Horacio Oduber Hospital.

In 2009 she decided it was time to find someone to complete here family. She joined E-harmony and met her other half, Gary. After his many visits to Aruba, and visits to the USA for her and the kids, he proposed to her in October 2011 in Aruba with Aleeza and Joel present for the event. They were married in Little Rock, AR on 27 December 2011 before she and the kids had to go back to Aruba to wait on immigration papers. The leaving each time was always hard on all of them. They had another wedding celebration in Aruba on April 7, 2012 for her friends and family there.

On 20 October 2012, the immigration papers were all in order, and Farina, Aleeza, Joel, Pixie and Luna (her cats) boarded a plane for the USA and a new life as a whole family. Farina had a passion for her animals and ALL animals. She was not going to leave Aruba without them, so they flew to Arkansas and enjoyed their new life in America.

Life took another tragic turn in 2015. While driving back from a study session to take the Nursing exam (NCLEX), Farina was in a bad car accident. She was struck from behind while stopped on the interstate. This lead to neck surgery, shoulder surgery, and the beginning of her hand tremors that we would eventually find out in 2021 was Parkinson’s Disease. She went through three brain surgeries to help control her tremors, but the disease was mean. She was in constant pain with the Parkinson’s, Fibromyalgia, and Depression soon set in also, yet she was brave enough to go through with three (3) brain surgeries where she had to be awake for the entire surgery.

She was immensely proud of her children and the successful young adults they have become. She graciously shared them with her husband, Gary, who became their grateful, proud dad. Together they were a family, all with her memory burned into their hearts, they will remain a family.

She loved all of her animals, especially Jellybean, her Corgi, but she loved them all. All five cats (Pepper, Simba, Sugar, Sammy, and Pica), and both dogs (Jellybean and Poppy). She often said she wanted to volunteer at an animal shelter, but would soon say no, because she would end up bringing all of them home with her.
